PURPOSE: To improve the reception performance of a multiplex signal by revising a changeover condition of an antenna or a reception system depending whether the mode is at main signal reception or a multiplex signal reception.

CONSTITUTION: An output of an intermediate frequency amplifier circuit 4 is given to an electric field fluctuation detection circuit 11 and an output of the circuit 11 is given to an antenna changeover condition detection circuit 12 in the stereo broadcast reception state. When an electric field fluctuation of a stereo FM broadcast during reception by, e.g. an antenna 1a exceeds a preset level, an output of the circuit 12 activates a changeover control circuit 13, and the antenna changeover circuit 2 selects the antenna 1b in place of the antenna 1a. On the other hand, during the reception of a multiplex signal, a subcarrier extracted by a subcarrier extract circuit 14 is given to the circuit 12, which discriminates the state of the subcarrier requiring antenna changeover, then the circuit 12 activates the circuit 13 to select other antenna.
