PURPOSE: A herbicide for paddy fields showing synergistic action on annual broadleaf weeds, gramineous weeds, and cyperaceous seeds, obtained by using both an α,α-dimethylphenylacetanilide derivative and "chloronitrofen", chlomethoxynil or "bifenox".
CONSTITUTION: A herbicide for paddy fields containing an α,α-dimethylphenylacetanilide derivative[e.g., N-phenyl-α,α-dimethylphenylacetanilide, etc.] shown by the formula (X is halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, or alkenyloxy; n is 0W 3) and p-nitrophenyl-2,4,6-trichlorophenyl ether (chloronitrofen), 2,4-dichlorophenyl- 3'-methoxy-4'-nitrophenyl ether (chlomethoxynil) or 2,4-dichlorophenyl-3'-methoxycarbonyl-4'-nitrophenyl ether (bifenox) as active ingredients.
EFFECT: Having enlarged application period, and long period of residual effect.
