PURPOSE: In a web splicer for performing overlap jointing of long web wound into a roll, to facilitate setting of a new web by planting many pins penetratable into the web on a web carry bar.

CONSTITUTION: The original paper 12 of an original roll 10 is fed through guide rollers 14, 16, 18 and a series of dancer rollers 20 to a corrugator line. When said roll 10 is consumed to be replaced with new one 24, the tip of the original paper 26 is brought near to an original paper carry bar 28b placed at the preparing position to pierce a pin planted on the bar 28b through the original paper 26 thus to set the original paper 26. Then both face adhesive tape is sticked at the position slightly in front of the row of pins, thereafter an arm 48b is ratated to stop the bar 28b at the predetermined position of the splice head 30 and wait. Upon occurrence of paper coupling command to function the cylinders 40, 44, both original papers 12, 26 are overlap coupled through the tape.
