PURPOSE: To simplify the changing of papers by providing cover holding members actuated movably outward and front plate opening pawls actuated movably downward, in a cassette for a bottom feed type recorder, and by providing engaging members for actuating the above-mentioned members, on a cassette mounting table side.

CONSTITUTION: When a cassette body 1 is advanced on a cassette mounting table 21, opening pawls 27 are firstly abutted against cover holding members 15 so that the cover holding member 15 rotates in the direction opposite to the arrow 16 for releasing the limitation of covers 14. When the cassette body 1 is further advanced, pins 18 on the covers 14 abut against stoppers 26 and thereby, the covers alone are stopped. After the cassette body 1 has been completely inserted, the covers 14 are relatively moved rearward, and therefore, the front part of a bottom plate 4 is opened. Further, pawls 8 on the front plate 5 abutts against abutting members 28 and are moved upward for lifting the front plate 5 to its open position. Thereby, a paper feed hole is completely opened so that a paper feed enabling condition is established. With this arrangement, the changing of papers for the bottom feed type recorder is simplified and therefore, the recorder may be miniaturized.
