Title:
LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENT IN ELECTRICAL FIELD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS587477
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: An element capable of emitting light in an electrical field, having a light emitting layer containing a fluorescent substance having particle surfaces covered with metallic oxide films, a transparent electrically conductive layer and a rear electrode holding both sides thereof, and capable of preventing the reduction in of the luminous flux divergence and improving the light emission efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: A transparent electrically conductive layer 2, e.g. tin dioxide or indium sesquioxide, is applied to the top of a glass substrate 1, and a light emitting layer 3 containing a fluorescent substance, e.g. a zinc sulfide fluorescent substance activated with copper or aluminum covered with metallic oxide films prepared by coating the surfaces of particles with an organometallic compound, e.g. organititanium compound, and calcining the resultant films is then applied thereto. A rear electrode 4, e.g. prepared by the vacuum deposition of aluminum, etc. is applied to the top of the resultant film to give the aimed element, capable of emitting light in an electrical field, and having the light emitting layer 3 held by the transparent electrically conductive layer 2 and the rear electrode 4.
