Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily produce active at a low cost without using an excess of activating agents by activating a carbonous substance and heat-treating the resulting activated carbonous substance in the presence of an activating agent.
CONSTITUTION: The raw material as the carbonous substance is selected from potassium humate and humic acid or their mixture derived from oxidation of coal, and it is heat-treated at 400-1200°C together with the activating agent such as KOH, K2CO3, and then the prescribed activating agent is separated, thus the resulting activated carbon is recovered and also the separated activating agent is recycled.
