PURPOSE: To improve the operation property of a firing device and prevent a user's hand from suffering a burn by separating the hand from a burner, by permitting a fuel to flow through a nozzle port with the aid of the rotation of an operation portion disposed in a gripper portion and firing gas by actuating a voltage generation portion.

CONSTITUTION: There are provided a cylindrical gripper portion 4 that accomodates a combustion tank including a fuel opening/closing valve, a rotatable operation portion 3 which is fitted to a coupling mechanism disposed in the gripper portion 4 for actuating the fuel opening/closing valve and which is disposed on the surface of the gripper portion 4, a voltage generation portion interlocked with the coupling mechanism to generate high voltage, and a conduit having one end communicating with the coupling mechanism and having the other end communicating with a nozzle of a burner 6. Once the operation portion 3 of the gripper portion 4 is rotated, the coupling mechanism connected therewith is also rotated to open the fuel opening/closing valve provided on a fuel tank and hereby gas is permitted to flow to the burner 6 and simultaneously actuate the voltage generation portion in contact with the coupling mechanism and discharge electricity at the burner 6 for firing the gas. Hereby, erroneous operation is prevented from being produced owing to drop and accidental force, and further operation without the fear of a burn is ensured.
