PURPOSE: To reduce power consumption without lowering the operational efficiency of a system by incorporating a display memory in a liquid crystal driver generating a liquid crystal applying voltage corresponding to the display data.
CONSTITUTION: A memory cell 120 is incorporated in the liquid crystal driver 105 generating the liquid crystal applying voltage on a liquid crystal panel 132, and an address bus 101, a data bus 102 and a control signal bus 103 are provided on an interface with the system, and the data in an optimum position are made to be updated easily, and the display data stored in the memory cell 120 are converted to the liquid crystal applying voltage at the timing of the control signal bus 103 to be outputted to the liquid crystal panel 132, and the display is performed. Thus, since the liquid crystal applying voltage corresponding to the display data is generated and outputted on the liquid crystal panel 132 by a display access of one time per one horizontal interval and the display is performed, the power consumption of the whole display system including the liquid crystal display is reduced.
