Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent degradation of the service life in a pole plate group of a lead acid battery by arranging a glass mat between a cathode plate and an anode plate housed in a bag shape separator. CONSTITUTION:An anode plate 4 is housed in a bag shape polyethylene separator 1 laminating both side edges by means of welding or mechanical seal, and a glass mat 7 having width except at least width of a laminating part 3 in the separator 1 is arranged between an cathode plate 5 and the anode plate 4 independently of the separator 1. Thereby, even if a battery is used under a severe condition, degradation of the service life caused by short circuit between the anode plate 4 and the cathode plate 5 can be prevented.
