Abstract:
PURPOSE:To automatize backup for a data communication system dedicated line by means of an ISDN line and to easily conduct a line test without troubling data communication. CONSTITUTION:A terminal adapter part 14 transmits/receives the data of a data terminal equipment (DTE) 20 as well as the information of a control part 17 through an ISDN line 40. The control part 17 inputs a switching instruction from an external device or a monitor (MON) circuit 131, transmits/ receives switching instruction information between it and the other line switching devices via the ISDN line 40 and controls a switching part 16. The switching part 16 switches the DTE 20 to either the side of a dedicated line 30 or the side of the ISDN line 40. The switching part 16 then connects a line testing part 18 or an external testing device 60 to the side of dedicated line 30 not connected with the DTE 20 or the side of the ISDN line. Both a testing device switching circuit 19 and the terminal adapter part 14 have a separate data feedback circuit and transmit/receive test data between the line switching devices opponent to each other.
