Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the cooling effect of a bearing part by placing bearing pads in such arrangement that they are mutually shifted in the axial direction and providing an oil supply opening for each of the bearing pads on the upstream side in the turning direction thereof and an oil discharge opening on the downstream side so as to prevent any lubricating oil from being carried over and flowing to the bearing pads. CONSTITUTION:Bearing pads 21a to 21d are arranged to be alternately shifted and additionally, in each spacing between the bearing pads, an oil supply opening 22a to 22d and an oil discharge opening 23a to 23d are dividedly arranged on the upstream and downstream sides, respectively. Lubricating oil which passes through each pad is thereby less apt to be mixed with newly supplied lubricating oil and immediately discharged outside, hence serving as cooling means. Since the oil supply openings are in the vicinity of the surface of a rotary shaft, the lubricating oil is stuck to the surface thereof in the form of a membrane and penetrates between pads, whereby exhibiting extremely superior lubricating effect.
