Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent damages of a shell and to escape from a complicated link structure by providing a cam driving mechanism inserted among a conveying part, a forming station and a chain. CONSTITUTION: When a block 11 is in a retracted dead center, teeth 15 of a pair of rods 12 get to zero velocity and are located at the rear of a guide element 30 in front of an outlet of a conveying part and a forming station 2. After that, a cam 21 rotates while gradually increasing its velocity, and a block 11 is moved in the forward direction F1 which motion is transmitted to a cylindrical element 3 so that the velocity goes up from zero to such a velocity that it substantially engaged with teeth 9 of a chain loop. At this moment, the acceleration motion finishes, and the cylindrical element 3 shifts from the teeth 15 of the rods to the teeth 9 of the chain loop, and then the conveying operation is finished. From this point, the block 11 decelerates to zero, returns toward a previous position in the reverse direction F2, and thus gets ready for the following shell element 3.
