PURPOSE: To produce self-fluxing sintered ore having excellent reducibility and resistance to reduction powdering property, by mixing and granulating semi- pellets having the two-layered structures each consisting of an inner shell contg. a small amt. of CaO and an outer shell contg. much CaO together with other sintering raw materials thereby producing the sintering raw material.
CONSTITUTION: A raw material 1 adjusted to ≤2.0wt% CaO is pelletized to an inner shell 3-1 by using a pelletizer 2, and said shell is charged into a pelletizer 4. A raw material 6 adjusted to 8.0W36.0wt% CaO is sprinkled on the shell 3-1 and an outer shell 3-2 is formed, whereby a semi-pellet 3 of 3W15mm grain sizes having a two-layered construction is produced in a pelletizer 4. Such semi-pellets 3 are mixed with other sintering raw materials 7 and are granulated under control humidity in a mixer 8. The pellets produced in such a way are used as the sintering raw material and are charged into the surge hopper 10 of a sintering machine 9. The self-fluxing sintered ore of 1.2W2.0 component basicity (CaO/ SiO2) is thus produced.
