PURPOSE: To improve the conversion efficiency of a photovoltaic device, by effectively using incident light.

CONSTITUTION: In a photovoltaic device wherein a plurality of photovoltaic layers 3, 5, 7 are laminated, a light scattering body is arranged on the light incidence side of a multilayered structure of a plurality of the photovoltaic layers 3, 5, 7, and a light scattering body 8 is arranged in at least a part between the laminated photovoltaic layers. These light scattering bodies 8 increase the scattering degree of incident light as it travels the deeper part of a device.
