PURPOSE: To provide an automobile front structure enabling an obstruction to be removed from the moving path of a power train retreating at the time of a head-on collision so as to secure a shock absorbing space.
CONSTITUTION: A sub-frame 6 is provided with a longitudinal member part 61 extended backward from the front end so as to allow a front and a rear mount members 7, 8 to be installed thereon, an inclined part 62, and a fitting part 63. The fitting part 63 is jointed to the lower face of a dash lower cross member 3 formed at the lower end of a dash lower panel 2. A steering rack 9 is fixed to the inclined part 62 by a bracket 10. The front part of a power train P is supported at the member 7, and the rear part is supported at the member 8. Lateral mount members 11, 12 are connected to a body side member such as a front side frame 1. When the power train P moves backward receiving load from the front direction, load is applied through a front cross member 5 to cause buckling deformation, so that the inclined part 62 moves downward to the rear, and the steering rack 9 is detached from the retreating path of the power train P.
