PURPOSE: To eliminate the possibility of damaging electrode parts for wirings by superposing a glass substrate selectively sprayed with spacers and another glass substrate on each other via a seal material.

CONSTITUTION: A mask 1 for controlling spraying of the spacers 4 is disposed on the lower glass substrate 2a formed with a lower electrode layer 2b. The spacers 4 are disposed only in the parts corresponding to apertures 9 bored with the mask 1 on the lower glass substrate 2a when the spacers 4 are sprayed from above the mask 1. The mask 1 is removed after the spraying of the spacers 4. The mask 1 is provided with projecting parts 10 for preventing fall thereon and tacky adhesives 12 for preventing fall are previously stuck thereon if there is the possibility that the spacers 4 spill down from above the mask 1. The glass substrate 2a selectively sprayed with the spacers 4 and the other glass substrate are superposed on each other via a sealing material, by which the state not interposed with the spacers 4 in the unnecessary parts is obtd.
