Abstract:
PURPOSE:To inexpensively and effectively utilize organic waste without emitting an offensive smell by adjusting an organic waste into a proper pH with an organic acid and treating the organic waste with a specific microorganism in a closed state without ventilation. CONSTITUTION:An organic waste such as garbage, agricultural and aquatic processing waste, waste of domestic animal or sewerage is mixed with an organic acid such as acetic acid or lactic acid and adjusted to pH3.0-5.0 to give an pH adjusted waste (A). Then one or more acid-resistant microorganisms (B) capable of producing lactic acid but not butyric acid, having no pathogenicity and >=50 antagonism value is obtained by selecting from ray fungi, photosynthetic bacteria, lactic acid bacteria, filamentous fungi and yeast [e.g. Candida sp (C. utilis)]. Then the component B is inoculated into the component A and cultured at pH3.0-5.0 at 25-45 deg.C in a closed state without ventilation to give organic fertilizer.
