Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a pharmaceutical composition, comprising a first ingredient containing fluoxetine, etc., and a second ingredient containing alprenolol, etc., and capable of increasing the availability of serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical composition comprises a first ingredient selected from the group consisting of fluoxetine, venlafaxine, milnacipran and duloxetime and a second ingredient selected from the group consisting of alprenolol, WAY110135, spiperone, pindolol, (S)-UH-301, penbutolol, propranolol, tertatolol and a compound represented by formula I (Ar is represented by formula II, etc.; R1 is methyl; R2 is H, a 1-4C alkyl, etc.) or its salt. The actions of the first ingredient are augmented by administration thereof with a serotonin 1A receptor antagonist in combination, and the composition is useful for treating depression, obsessional neurosis, obesity, urinary incontinence, etc.
