Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a silicon-containing polymer that is obtained by copolymerization of a polymerizable polysiloxane and a monofunctional monomer copolymerizable with the polysiloxane, and which is able to improve and long maintain wettability, dispersibility and adhesion of inorganic materials to organic media. SOLUTION: This silicon-containing polymer, which is effectively used as surface improvers, is obtained by copolymerizing (A) 1-50wt.% of polymerizable polysiloxane obtained by hydrolytic co-condensation of (i) at least one silane compound selected from among silane compounds of from formula I (R<1> is H or a 1-5C alkyl; R<2> is H or methyl; R<3> is a divalent organic group; R<4> is H, an alkyl, aryl, etc.; (s), (t) and (u) are each 0 or 1) to formula III, (ii) at least one silane compound selected from among compounds of formula IV [(p) is an integer of 0-2] in the presence of (iii) a solid catalyst insoluble to the co-condensation system, and (B) 99.5-50wt.% of a monofunctional polymer which has one unsaturated group and is polymerizable with component A.
