PURPOSE: To uniformly disperse an inorganic filler in a matrix of a thermo plastic organic polymer while keeping the function of the inorganic filler and suppressing its coagulation by adding the inorganic filler during the melting process of the thermoplastic organic polymer after the inorganic filler treated with a silicone compound on its surface.
CONSTITUTION: An inorganic filler (e.g., fine powder of titanium oxide) is treated with a silicone compound (e.g., methylhydrogenpolysiloxane) expressed by the formula [(n) is integer; R1 to R6 are H, alkyl, alkoxy, phenyl or perfluoroalkyl] on its surface. While a thermoplastic organic polymer (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) is melted in a twin-screw extruder, the silicone treated inorganic filter is added into the matrix of the moltenpolymer through the side feeder of the extruder, mixed, dispersed and extruded. Through this process, the inorganic filler is uniformly dispersed in a matrix while keeping the characteristic properties of the inorganic filler, e.g., abrasion resistance, warmth-keeping property and gas absorptivity and suppressing the coagulation of the inorganic filter.
