Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a process for the synthesis of a tetraalkoxysilane in high yield in a state to enable easy separation of the catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: This process for the production of a tetraalkoxysilane comprises the reaction of a trialkoxysilane with a lower aliphatic alcohol in the presence of at least one kind of zinc-based catalyst selected from zinc, zinc oxide and zinc hydroxide.
