Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form uniformly a dense superconductor layer over the whole wire by forming an electrodeposition layer of the premass powder of either oxide type superconductor or powder of specific oxide superconductor by electrophoretic deposition method, and then performing heat treatment according to necessary. CONSTITUTION:Electrophoretic deposition is made in an electrodeposition liquid in which either the premass powder of oxide superconductor or a powder of oxide superconductor of A-B-C-D type is dispersed, where A is one or more of the elements belonging to group IIIa on the Periodic Table such as Y, Sc, La, Yb, Er, Eu, Ho, Dy; B is one or more of the elements belonging to group IIa such as Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba; C is Cu or two or more elements belonging to group Ib such as Cu, Ag, Au plus Nb including Cu; and D is one or more elements belonging to group VIb such as O, S, Se and the group VIIb such as F, Cl, Br including O. On the surface of a base material 10 an electrodeposition layer 11 is formed which shall contain elements constituting oxide superconductor, to be followed by heat treatment if necessary. Thereby an oxide superconductive wire is obtained which is equipped good close contact with superconductor layer and a high mechanical strength.
