Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily obtain a piston having high temp. strength and wear resistance by using the composite material consisting of short fibrous metal obtd. from the starting material of cast Al alloy and ceramics, etc., the starting material and forging the same. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal of the cast Al alloy contg. one or more kinds among Si, Cu and Mg is subjected to pressure solidification to form a billet. The billet by said forging of the molten metal is worked to form the short fibrous metal. The reinforcing material consisting of ceramics or metal is added to said metal to compound. The perform formed by subjecting the same to pressure heating is then regulated to the starting material and is forged to form a piston.
