Abstract:
PURPOSE:To secure such a superconducting wire that is excellent in a character istic by applying heat treatment to at least either of the inner surface of a metallic sheath serving as a stabilized layer or the surface of a compact after installing a nonoxidizing layer of noble metals. CONSTITUTION:Material powder for an oxide superconductive material is mixed so as to cause each component element to become the specified mixing into and calcined. Next, it is compressed and formed into a green compact 1, and an Ag tape is closely rolled on the surface, producing a nonoxidizing layer 2. Then, this compact 1 is inserted into a CU sheath 3 serving as a stabilized layer. Wire drawing takes place, forming it into the specified wire diameter, and it is subjected to heat treatment, whereby a reaction is caused among material elements of the compact, setting it down to a conductor with supercon ductivity. At time of heat treatment of a wire rod at high temperature, since the Ag nonoxidizing layer keeps off an oxygen shortage of the oxide superconductive material caused by oxidation of the Cu sheath 3 in the stabilized layer, such a superconducting wire that is excellent in a characteristic is secura ble. In this connection, the nonoxidizing layer may be formed with an evapora tion or spatter process.
