Title:
C-SHAPED SUPERCONDUCTIVE MAGNET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07106155
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a shim device for making uniform a magnetic field in the imaging volume of a C-shaped superconducting magnet. CONSTITUTION: In a C-shaped superconducting magnet that includes a superconducting coil means 6, a ferromagnetic magnetic core means 50 that is connected to the coil means 6 in terms of operation, and first and second magnetic pole pieces 100 that are connected to the magnetic core means 50 in terms of operation, and where the first and second magnetic pole pieces 100 are arranged while being separated by a specific interval so that a gap is formed between them, a passive shim means is arranged adjacent to the first and second magnetic pole pieces 100. The passive shim means includes a tray for shimming made of a non-ferromagnetic material that is arranged adjacent to the magnetic pole pieces 100 and a passive shim made of a ferromagnetic material that is arranged adjacent to a tray 106 for shimming.
