Abstract:

PURPOSE: To shorten the manufacturing term and to reduce the manufacturing cost by simplifying the arrangement structure of refractory, such as monolithic refractory, base member, ceramic plate, arranged in a metallic case, in a side weir in a twin roll type continuous casting apparatus.

CONSTITUTION: The base member 12 arranged in the metallic case 10 is made of the monolithic refractory and poured into a mold frame and integrally formed to a block-state or this base member is made of the monolithic refractory and poured into the mold frame together with the monolithic refractory 11 arranged at the periphery and integrally formed to the block-state and arranged in the metallic case. At the time of forming the block-state by pouring and integrally forming, a heater inserting hole 12b, the ceramic plate 13 and a planting groove 12a are formed. At the time of pouring and integrally forming, the monolithic refractory can directly be poured into the metallic case by using the metallic case as a mold frame, too.
