PURPOSE: To improve effect of water saving by a method wherein a smell sensor or a vision sensor for fecal matters is provided to a water supply control section equipped with various sensors, and supply quantity of flushing water is controlled with judgement made on difference between urine and feces, based on signals from the sensors.
CONSTITUTION: Judgement is made with a judgement part 9 on difference between urine and feces, with comparison made with set values regarding time and quantity, in accordance with signals from sensors including an H2S sensor provided to a smell- vent passage of a toilet bowl for detecting hydrogen sulfide and methyl captan, principal components of fecal smell, a seat-occupancy sensor 5, and a hand-washing sensor 8. Then, output is made, based on the result of the judgement, to a driving circuit 12 and opening-and-shutting of a valve 11 of a flushing water supply pipe 20 is made therewith. The water supply is made in a large quantity in the case of feces while in a small quantity in the case of urine. Control of flushing water supply may be made with vision sensors such as a TV camera or photosensor provided to a bowl part of the toilet bowl for detecting feces. Thereby, supply of flushing water is automatically controlled to each of feces and urine, and effect of water saving can be improved.
