PURPOSE: To prepare an oriented opaque resin film, excellent in concealing ability without causing occurrence of paneling or depression or trouble of paper dust by using a propylene resin and a cyclic olefin resin a base materials and specifying the void volume and opacity of the film.

CONSTITUTION: This film product comprises a thermoplastic resin, as a basic material, containing (A) 50-95wt.% of a propylene resin (preferably polypropylene homopolymer or propylene-ethylene copolymer) and (B) 5-50wt.% of a cyclic olefin resin wherein the void volume calculated according to the equation I is 20-70% and the opacity is higher than 75%. The component B is selected from (co)polymers of cyclic olefins of formula II ((n) is 0, a positive integer; R1-R12 are each H, a halogen or the like) such as dicyclo [2,2,1] hept-2-ene, its hydrogenation products and addition copolymers of the cyclic olefins with ethylene and has an intrinsic viscosity [η] of 0.05-10dl/g in decalin at 135°C and a softening point of 145-170°C.
