PURPOSE: To shorten time for performing the servo-write of all the recording surface and to reduce the influence of the fluctuation of the rotation of a disk or the drift of a head.
CONSTITUTION: A hard disk device is provided with one or more disks and plural heads 9-0 to 9-3 arranged corresponding to the disks, and servo information supplied from one read/write integrated circuit 20 incorporated in the device is recorded on the disk through the heads 9-0 to 9-3. In addition to the circuit 20, the device is provided with write integrated circuits 25 to 27 whose number is less than the total number of the heads 9-0 to 9-3 by one, and the output of the circuits 25 to 27 is connected to the heads 9-1 to 9-3 which are not selected by the circuit 20. Then, the respective circuits 20, and 25 to 27 are driven by a signal from a servo writer, so that the servo information is simultaneously recorded on the disk through the respective heads 9-0 to 9-3.
