Title:
TORQUE DETECTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0634461
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a torque detecting device which can measure the torque of a rotating shaft member with high accuracy even when the rotating speed of the member changes.

CONSTITUTION: Position signals are recorded on magnetic recording layers 12a and 12b through magnetic heads 14a and 14b arranged at a prescribed interval in the axial direction and the phase difference Δt between the reproduced signals of the position signals is detected. In addition, by arranging a magnetic head 14c against the head 14a at a prescribed angle θ0 in the peripheral direction, the time difference (t) between the reproduced position signals from the heads 14a and 14c is detected. Then the angle θ of torsion and torque T of a rotating shaft member 10 are calculated from the time difference (t) and phase difference Δt. Since the phase difference Δt and time difference (t) are used for torque detection, the torque T can be directly detected on the basis of the angle θ0 without receiving any influence from the rotating speed and the variation of speed of the member 10 at the time of recording the signals.
