PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic reader/writer which is capable of easily performing the cleaning of a driving roller and a pressing roller carrying a magnetic card.

CONSTITUTION: A first driving roller 4 carrying a magnetic card is mounted on a rotary shaft 3 so that the roller may be freely slid, a stopper positioning the first driving roller 4 at the overhead location of a first pressing roller 9 is provided on the rotary shaft 3 and the first driving roller 4 is pressed on the stopper by the spring force of a spring 33. When a cleaning is performed, the first driving roller 4 is prevented from double-acting by saving the first driving roller 4 to a side location against the spring force of the spring 33 and projecting the first pressing roller 9 upward by the spring force of the spring 10.
