PURPOSE: To securely prevent a fastened metallic wire from getting out of place, by providing a holder retaining the metallic wire and a stabilizer thereof at the front end of a bridge rising from a fixed part set on the external end face of flange of the reel for a metallic wire.

CONSTITUTION: This retainer A composed of a plate spring is provided with a fixing part 1, a bridge 2 rising therefrom, a holder 3 almost parpendicularly extended downward from the bridge 2 and a stabilizer 4 of the holder. The fixing part 1 is fastened with a screw at the external end of the flange 5 of a reel R having a winding drum 7. The holder 3 and the stabilizer 4 of the holder are provided so as to locate at an inspection hole 6 formed at the flange 5. The bridge 2 is pressed lightly at the front end thereof to insert the holder 3 and the stabilizer 4 of the holder into the inspection hole and after the end Wa of metallic wire has been fitted to the holder 3 with the force along the flange 5 face, the pressing force is released. In this way, the end Wa can be held between the hoder 3 and the inner face of flange 5.
