PURPOSE: To provide a raising and lowering device for a vehicle turning fifth wheel by which a failure, such as causing oil leakage and so on if unnecessary force is applied to an actuator even when the fifth wheel is housed, can be eliminated and opration can be smoothed at the time.
CONSTITUTION: A spring mechanism (coil springs 36 and torque spring) to suspend a raising and lowering device is engaged with raising and lowering member in a fifth wheel raising and lowering device to raise and lower the wheel 5 by means of an actuator 2 through the raising and lowering members (rotating arms 7, opration arms 3, support link 4 and so on), and opration can be smoothed when the raising and lowering device is oprated, and at the same time, even when the fifth wheel 5 is housed, weight of the raising and lowering device can be supported to a certain degree. Thereby, a failure such as causing oil leakage and so on if unnecessary force is applied to the actuator 2 can be eliminated, so that there is no possibility of constituting a hindrance to vehicle travel due to genenation of the so-called hanging-down phenomenon.
