Compounds of formula (I), wherein R<1> and R<2> independently represent H or OH, or a second carbon-carbon bond; R<3> represents optionally substituted methyl, ethyl or propyl; R<4> represents H; R<5> and R<6> represent a second carbon-carbon bond; R<7> represents H or OH; R<8> represents OCH3; R<9> represents OH or OCH3; X and Y independently represent O or (H, OH); n represents 1 or 2; and in addition some of the substituents form rings with each other; with various provisos; are indicated in the treatment of immunodepression. A number of novel compounds of formula (I) are also provided.
