Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent internal short circuit and to increase safety by using a separator whose part corresponding to the winding core of a spiral electrode body is melt-bonded to form a bag. CONSTITUTION:An electrode body is formed by spirally winding a positive plate 1 and a negative plate 2 through a separator 3 which is wider than both plates. The separator 3 is cut in a belt form, then folded, and the negative plate 2 is inserted therebetween, then the part corresponding to the winding core of the electrode body is melt-bonded so as to form a bag. Even if charge- discharge is repeated, needle or powdery lithium separated from the negative plate in the winding core of the electrode body does not float, and internal short circuit is prevented.
