Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the discharge property of a battery, improve the ability to manufacture a group of spiral plates and raise reliability, by sticking a narrow-sash-shaped insulator, in the longitudinal direction of the surface of a positive plate. SOLUTION: The positive plate 7 of this battery, has had positive electrode mix 11 retained in a thin layer form on both sides of a sash-shaped metallic collector 10 as core material. The mix 11 at the center of the positive plate 7 is stripped off, and a positive electrode lead piece 12 for taking electric contact with an assembly sealing plate is spot-welded to the core material 10. From above it, an insulating layer 13 is so stuck as to coat the whole of the stripping part. Moreover, as for the positive electrode board 7, a narrow-sash- shaped insulator 14 is stuck on the face opposed to the negative plate 9 in the longitudinal direction of the positive electrode 7.
