Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily form a recording layer showing good melting property, and to obtain an optical recording medium in which no decrease in reflectance of the recording layer is caused and little deterioration by deproducing or light is caused, by incorporating a complex having a chemical structure expressed by a specified formula into a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:This medium consists of a resin or glass substrate 2, recording layer 3, reflecting layer 4, and protective layer 5 successively layered. The recording layer 3 contains a dye and a quencher. At least, the quencher is a metal complex expressed by the formula. In the formula, Cp is a cyclopentadiene, M is a metal atom, Y and Z are S, Se, NR3 or O, R3 is H, an alkyl group, phenyl group, C-R2, or N, and R1 and R2 are alkyl, aryl, cyanoether, ester, acyl, alkylthio, sulfamoil, alkylsulfonyl, heterocyclic groups, haogen, or nitro groups, and when A is C-R2, R1 and R2 may be bonded to form a ring.
