PURPOSE: To produce a large amount of a vic-dichlorofluoroalkene derivative in a high yield from an economical conjugated perchlorodiene compound corresponding thereto and of liquid at the ordinary temperature and the ordinary temperature, e.g. hexachlorgcyclopentadiene and produce a large amount of a fluorinated alkane derivative therefrom.
CONSTITUTION: The method for production of a vic-dichlorofluorinated alkene derivative represented by formula I (R1 and R2 are each a perlupro-alkyl or a perfluoroalkylene may be formed from R1 and R2) is carried out by reacting a conjugated perchlorodiene compound with chlorine in the presence of an antimony catalyst and then with hydrogen fluoride. The method for production of a fluorinated alkane derivative of formula II is carried out by reacting the resultant compound of formula I with hydrogen in the presence of a basic compound and a hydrogenation catalyst. In addition, a fluorinated alkane derivative of formula III is obtained by reacting chlorine atoms of a compound of formula I with a fluorination reagent to conduct substitution with fluorine and subsequently reacting hydrogen therewith in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst. The fluorinated alkane derivative is useful as a substitute of chlorinated fluorocarbon.
