PURPOSE: To furnish charging equipment for a storage battery which can charge the storage battery with a prescribed charging current while utilizing the output of a photovoltaic power generating system at the maximum.
CONSTITUTION: Charging equipment for a storage battery which has a solar battery 1, a DC-DC converter 3 of a maximum output following control type connected to the output thereof, and a rectifier 11 connected in parallel to the output of this DC-DC converter and receiving power from a commercial power source, in which the input side of a current detector 13 is provided at the node of the output of the DC-DC converter 3 and the output of the rectifier while a storage battery 15 is connected onto the output side of the detector, and in which the rectifier 11 receiving power from the commercial power source is controlled by an electric signal proportional to the output of the current detector, so that the maximum output of the solar battery 1 be supplied to the storage battery and that the storage battery 15 be charged simultaneously with a constant current.
