Title:
ROTARY MIRROR OPTICAL DEFLECTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5844415
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a bearing which never causes galvanic corrosion by using a nonmagnetic metal for a journal part which faces a tilting pad for holding the radius direction of a rotating shaft having a fitted polygon mirror, and a nonmetal for the bearing surface of the pad.

CONSTITUTION: A rotating shaft 22 where a polygon mirror 21 is fixed consists of four members; a rotating shaft 22, a shaft core 23, the rotor 24 of a driving motor, a lower journal 25, and a magnet 26 for flotation. The shaft core uses nonmagnetic stainless steel, and a part 27 as an upper journal and a part which contacts with the polygon mirror are surface-hardened. Further, the lower journal uses stainless steel and is surface-hardened as well. Since the lower journal is made of the nonmagnetic material, the need for a spacer is eliminated and the upper journal serves as the shaft center, reducing the number of constituent members. Further, a thin nonmetallic film is stuck to a tilting pad 28, so galvanic corrosion and seizure in starting and stopping are prevented.
