PURPOSE: To miniaturize a printing head and to enhance the handling properties thereof only by adding a simple mechanism by arranging the constitutional element parts of the printing head to the upper and rear surfaces and leading end surface of one base.
CONSTITUTION: In the printing head of a continuous type ink jet recording apparatus wherein a character is formed by a charge electrode 8 charging the ink particles injected from nozzles 3 with a character signal and a deflection electrode 9 for deflecting charged ink particles and the ink particles not used in the formation of the character are caught by a gutter 5 and returned to a main body to be reused, the constitutional element parts of the printing head are arranged on the upper and rear surfaces and leading end surface of one base 40. The tip parts of the nozzles 3 and the head part of a block 4 having a filter are arranged so as to be exposed to the surface of an upper cover 7 through seal members.
