Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve the utilization factor of active material and to stabilize the utilization factor with little dispersion by defining the solubility of CO2O3 powder serving as an active material mix no lower than a specific level. CONSTITUTION:A metal Co is dissolved in an H2SO4 aqueous solution, to which an NaOH aqueous solution is added to neutralize it, and a crystal of alpha-Co(OH)2 is provided. The crystal is into beta-Co(OH)2, which is then baked at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined period of time in an inert gas, and powder containing Co2O3 with the remainder of CoO is provided. The powder is added to Ni(OH)2 so that the solubility becomes no less than 200mg/l, and is kneaded along with a thickener such as carboxymethyl cellulose and water, into paste. The paste is filled in a Ni plated metal porous body having a predetermined porosity and even pore diameter, and is dried and formed into a paste type Ni positive electrode.
