NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R<1> and R<2> are H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio). EXAMPLE:10-(3-Chloro-1-azabicyclo[2.2.21]oct-3-ylmethyl)-phenothiazine. USE:An intermediate for mequitazine having antihistaminic, cholinergic suppressing, antiadrenergic, nerve-sedative, tranquilizing and antispasmodic actions, etc. PREPARATION:A compound of formula II is made to react with 3- methylenequinuclidine oxide in the presence of a condensation agent (preferably potassium hydroxide or sodium hydride) in a solvent (preferably toluene) preferably at 80-110 deg.C.
