Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain quality excellent in color formability, luster, nobility and form stability and free from recontamination or the like by using a yarn composed mainly of a composite fiber of an ethylene-vinyl acetate based copolymer saponified matter and polyester having a specified sulfonate group. CONSTITUTION:A composite fiber of an ethylene-vinyl acetate based copolymer saponified matter and polyester (PES containing a sulfonate group) having a group as represented by the formula-SO3M wherein M represents alkali metal ion, alkali earth metal ion or quaternary phosphonium ion) is used to obtain a pile mat. In this case, more than 50wt.%, preferably 60-100wt.% of the fiber composing a pile yarn is given the composite fiber. It is also possible to form a multifilament yarn made of a plurality of composite fibers. to combine the fibers in plurality for producing the pile yarn with a specified thickness, for example, by twisting, air twisting and bending or to combine the fibers in plurality after the working for nobility of a multifilament for producing the pile yarn.
