Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve operation stability and convergency in riding over protrusions by prescribing, with particular requirements the outer profile of a tire which is filled with air to regular pressure and whose tread developing width is greater than 280mm to increase profile effects. CONSTITUTION:The outer profile of a tire is preset so that the following requirements (1-4) may be met - (1) a/a+b=0.27-0.37 (however, a=SDH-c, d=(SH-SDH)-b, where SH: height of a tire section, SDH: height at the maximum width of a tire, b: height of P1 from P2, c: height of a rim flange), (2)alpha=65 deg.-80 deg., where alpha: angle of the connecting line of P1 with P2 in the axial direction of a tire, (3) beta=60 deg.-80 deg., where beta: angle of the connecting line of P2 with P3 in the cross direction of a tire and (4) alpha/beta=0.90-1.10. This increases lateral rigidity by profile effects.
