Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent crack generation and Kerf bend generation in a siping edge by enlarging the thickness of the closed end of a sipe, and gradually reducing thickness toward the opening end, in a tire, mentioned in the title, for heavy load having closed sipes. CONSTITUTION:Plural number of blocks 1 are formed on a tread surface 10 and on respective blocks 1, plural number of sipes 2 are provided in width direction of a tire. Each of the sipes 2 is made to be a closed sipe opened at one end and closed at the other, and thickness (t) of the siping edge 3 to be the closed end is made to be larger than thickness (g) of the opening end 4 while thickness between both ends is made to reduce gradually to the thickness (g) of the opening end 4. According to this constitution, stress concentration on the siping edge 3 can be prevented, and the opening edge can be made to be thicknened to increase the rigidity of Kerf. Therefore, crack and Kerf bend at the siping edge can be prevented.
