PURPOSE: To provide the device which effectively displays information in characters, images, etc., under various conditions from supply of image information, etc., outdoor or in a bright place and in the night or a dark place and from small-sized display of watches, electronic calculators, etc., to large-sized displays of televisions and personal computers, notice boards and panels, screens for motion pictures and large-sized screens for outdoor advertisement.

CONSTITUTION: This display device is constituted to display the information in characters, images, etc., on the display screen provided with electromagnetic coils 2 on the rear surfaces of magnetic dyestuff spherical bodies 1 by changing the directions of the current of the electromagnetic coils 2 by electric signal to invert the magnetic dyestuff spherical bodies 1 colored by each of N poles and S poles, thereby changing the brightness, tints, etc., of the flat plane screen constituted with several pieces of the magnetic dyestuff spherical bodies 1 as one pixel and displaying information, such as characters and images, on the screen.
