Title:
IMAGE INPUT DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0832754
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate unnecessary operation when a feeder is not mounted and to shorten the operation time by judging whether or not the feeder is mounted and judging whether or not there is a film mount in a carriage.

CONSTITUTION: This device is equipped with an image input device main body 111 which reads image information out of a document (film mount) mounted on the carriage traveling in a subscanning direction and the feeder 112 which is mounted detachably on the main body 111 and inserts and discharges the film mount into and from the main body 111. Sense pins provided to connectors 120-123 judge whether or not the feeder 112 is mounted on the main body 111. A CCD judges whether or not there is the film mount in the carriage. A CPU 113 makes the CCD judge whether or not there is the film mount when the sense pins judge that the feeder is mounted, but does not make the CCD judge whether or not there is the film mount when the sense pins judged that the feeder is not mounted.
