Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a coating material excellent in dispersibility of an abrasive material.
CONSTITUTION: A dispersion of magnetic powder in an org. solvent contg. a binder and a dispersion of an abrasive material in an org. solvent contg. a binder are separately prepd. and mixed to obtain the objective coating material. A nonmagnetic substrate is coated with the coating material and dried to obtain the objective magnetic recording medium. The coating material contg. the abrasive material in a satisfactorily dispersed state is obtd. in a short time and the magnetic recording medium hardly dropping the abrasive material and having low head wearing property is obtd. using the coating material.
