Title:
RECOGNIZING AND PROCESSING SYSTEM FOR ON-LINE HANDWRITTEN CHARACTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6011978
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To decrease the recognizing/processing time especially the matching process time by obtaining the distance between strokes corresponding to an input character and a standard pattern through sequential calculation and cumulative addition.

CONSTITUTION: A cumulative adder 62 adds cumulatively the inter-stroke distances ds(i) supplied from an inter-stroke distance calculator 61 at and after the 1st inter-stroke distance ds(1). This cumulative added value Dθ is supplied to a comparator 63 for each addition and compared with the threshold value THd corresponding to the stroke number M supplied from a threshold value table 64. The comparator 63 counts up a stroke counter 102 successively if the Dθ is smaller than the THd to obtain the next inter-stroke distance ds(i) for cumulative addition. Then the Dθ is supplied to a minimum distance detector if Dθ< THd is obtained from he comparator 63.
